Some events will feature lectures on travels and adventures, while others will focus on textiles and carpets. Additionally, certain events will be associated with the special exhibitions held every half year.

Auction and dinner at The Rug Club
We also invite you to the next event at the Carpet Club (membership not required), which is a dinner and auction. The traditional auction will feature submitted carpets, textiles, and carpet books.
Price at the door for dinner including beverages is DKK 200. Everyone is welcome.

"Antique Kilims" at The Rug Club
An evening all about antique kilims, as a prelude to the upcoming kilim exhibition by the Norwegian rug dealer Lars Nygaard, at Blåfarveværket outside Oslo, where he famously held a fantastic exhibition on Beloutch last year, a topic he lectured about at The Rug Club in the autumn: https://taeppeklubben.dk/foredrag-om-baluch-udstillingen/
The Picture: Here’s an antique Caucasian Mafresh. A Mafresh originally is a trunk – here, the two sides of the trunk are put together to form a small rug. This particular kilim rug is one of many, that will be showcased at the event at The Rug Club.
Beautiful antique kelims will be displayed, some even of museum quality, for us to admire.
Tea, coffee, and cake will be served. Everyone is welcome.

Vernissage and "THREAD'S WORK"
On Thursday the 18th of April 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, we will be hosting a vernissage with guest ØSTERLAND.
“THREAD’S WORK” is a group exhibition featuring handmade works that are woven, braided, crocheted, embroidered, knitted, sewn – using thread, whether it be linen, paper, wool, polyester, cotton, or steel.
The exhibition showcases a continuous fascination with and insistence on textile as an art medium. The represented artists span a wide range – in the use of techniques, choice of expressions, interests, and backgrounds. But common among them is a playful and exploratory approach to thread and technique. The exhibited works may be beautiful, quirky, surprising, and certainly delightfully useless in the conventional sense.
A textile exhibition featuring Anne Bjørn, Annette Graae, Marianne Johnstad, Tomoko Konae, Anna Melchior, Agnes Saaby Thomsen.
The poster is designed by Tomoko Konae, who is one of the artists exhibiting at the exhibition.

The exhibition "THREAD'S WORK"
The exhibition at Wiinstedt Art Gallery runs from the 19th of April 19 to the 24th of May 2024 and can be viewed Wednesday to Friday from 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Strandboulevarden 5, 2100 Copenhagen Ø.

Theme Evening and Exhibition of Carpets and Textiles from Turkestan
Thursday on the 21st of March 2024 at 07.00 PM there will be vernising.
Turkestan is a broad term for the countries that stretch from the Caspian Sea to China including Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and northern Afghanistan.
Turkmen carpets and textiles in a broader sense, so Turkestan might be the accurate term, as it also includes Uzbekistan, and so on. Boris and Mads will be presenting, and there will be plenty of Turkmen carpets, etc., to admire.
Tea, coffee, and cake will be served. Everyone is welcome.
Entrance fee at the door: DKK 50.
Exhibition on Carpets and Textiles from Turkestan
The exhibition in the gallery runs from the 21st of March to the 12th of April 2024 and can be viewed Wednesday to Friday from 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Strandboulevarden 5, 2100 Copenhagen Ø. The exhibition is closed during the Easter holiday.

Theme Evening on Japanese Textiles, Calligraphy, and Other Japanese Art Forms
Thursday on the 29th of February 2024 at 19.00 there will be vernising.
This evening is a decidedly themed evening about Japanese textiles, calligraphy and other Japanese art forms. It is also vernissed at the exhibition, which Boris organizes in collaboration with the Society for Oriental Carpet Art and Stig Andersson, who has traveled extensively in Japan. The evening includes lectures and presentations of the objects on display.
Tea, coffee, and cake will be served. Everyone is welcome.

Exhibition "Japanese Calligraphy and Textile"
The exhibition is open from the 29th of February to the 15th of March 2024 and can be viewed Wednesday to Friday from 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Strandboulevarden 5, 2100 Copenhagen Ø.
